Sometimes I wonder if I have entered the wrong industry.
Take SpaceX as an example. They launched rockets to Mars? Humanity takes a step forward. They failed to launch, the rocket exploded? Humanity can still learn from it and move forward. Regardless of the outcome, it will ultimately promote progress.
In contrast, cryptocurrency feels like a stupid casino (apologizing to a few people). rise in price? Everyone cheers, when can I buy a Lamborghini. Price decline? Many people's lives have been destroyed. What contribution does this make to humanity?
Indeed, establishing a new currency system takes time. I understand this... but can we create something useful in this process? Now everyone just wants to be the next 'V' (referring to Vitalik Buterin), no one really wants to create valuable products, everyone just wants to squeeze profits.
I really don't understand why this system shouldn't crash? From a broader perspective, what will we lose? The achievements of cryptocurrency are only large-scale value transfer, but I still haven't seen any real value creation.
It should be noted that earning big money through luck and transferring funds to a non cryptocurrency project cannot be considered a success story for cryptocurrency. At most, this is just a success story of a lucky philanthropist, and it is more likely that this person has undergone a simple asset diversification.
In my opinion, this industry should have created something truly useful and people are willing to use it a long time ago, otherwise it would have been better to just shut down.
Bitcoin is at least still attempting (although unsuccessful) to become a safe haven asset. But other projects are just selling shovels, without any signs of a gold rush.
